Ray of Hope Foundation was born out of my passion to serve as an instrument of hope to the hopeless, a mentor to the youths, and a role model to those looking forward to a brighter tomorrow.
My main objectives are:
* Value Discovery for Girl Child, academically and skills acquisition.
* Advocacy for quality healthcare services for the privilege children.
* Women empowerment, maternal orientation and sensitisation.
“An internally displaced person (IDP) is someone who is forced to flee his or her home but who remains within his or her country’s borders. They are often referred to as refugees, although they do not fall within the current legal definition of a refugee.” – Wikipedia
On our previous visit to an IDP Camp in Northen Nigeria, it was all to clear that the current negative effect that the insurgent attacks particularly the brunt of the attacks in Northern Nigeria that has been suffered by women and children is tremendous. There is a need for us to brainstorm and come up with innovative means of awakening the interest of the girl child to formal education.
Similary other outreach programs we have conducted in small communities in and around the country have reaffirmed that women and girls are being overlooked, neglected even, because they are regarded as second class citizens. This way of thinking needs to be extinguished. Now is the time to reverse this.
